WE DO Communal Cleaning

At Sphere Cleaning Services, we understand that communal spaces say plenty when walking into a property, block, or estate. Hallways, stairwells, entrances, lifts, and shared landings are the first and last impression residents, visitors, and prospective tenants experience. Clean, fresh, and well-maintained communal areas reflect positively on property managers, building owners, and businesses alike.

Supporting Property Managers and Building Owners

Managing estates and multi-occupancy blocks and buildings come with a lot of responsibility. The last thing you need is uncertainty around cleaning standards. We work closely with property managers, estate managers, and commercial building owners to provide reliable, structured cleaning services for shared spaces between flats and across complexes.

Currently, we operate at large complexes in Margate, Ramsgate, and Canterbury, with more communal cleaning in London, Thanet, Canterbury, and Dover districts.

From compact residential blocks to large developments with multiple stairwells, long corridors, lifts, and high traffic zones, we tailor our service to the needs of each site. Whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly, or every four weeks, we can assess the traffic, usage, and layout of the building to recommend the right frequency.

  • Weekly cleaning - critical to maintain larger complexes and busier buildings.

  • Bi-weekly cleaning for medium-use shared areas, 6-8 flats in the building as a guide this could be suitable for.

  • 4-weekly cleaning for smaller, low-footfall areas.

These are not definitive. Should you be aiming for a higher standard, you can have weekly cleaning for a building with only 2 or 4 flats inside, the customisation is what we do well!

Our goal is simple: clean communal areas through a communicative, reliable, and quality service.

We Do the Basics Well

To achieve a clean communal area, it’s about getting the fundamentals right every time. At Sphere Cleaning Services, we focus on doing the basics well.

Dusting

We systematically dust all accessible surfaces including: corners of ceilings and walls, ledges, skirting boards, window sills, handrails, fixtures, amongst other areas spiders, webs, and dust can settle. Dust build-up can quickly make a space look neglected, so our simple and organised task lists for our all in house cleaners ensure nothing is overlooked.

Common Touch Point Cleaning

Door handles, entry panels, light switches, handrails, lift buttons — these high-contact areas require attention to remove fingerprints and marks. We prioritise sanitising common touch points to maintain hygiene standards and give residents peace of mind.

General Wiping

Internal doors, frames, post boxes, and general surfaces are wiped down as standard on various frequencies depending on the need for them. Marks and smudges are removed before they become permanent features.

Vacuuming

We use cordless vacuum cleaners across all sites for efficiency and quality, paired with corded Numatic and Henry vacuums where required. This allows us to work efficiently and safely in stairwells and communal areas without trailing cables. Carpets and mats are vacuumed thoroughly to maintain appearance and extend their lifespan.

Sweeping and Mopping

Hard floors are swept and mopped using good equipment and appropriate mixtures of cleaning solutions. Entrances, staircases, and stair nosings receive particular attention, especially during wet or muddy seasons.

General Cleaning as Required

Every building is different. We adapt to the specific needs of each property, whether that’s spot-cleaning walls, cleaning intricate railings, or reporting maintenance issues we notice during visits.

Structured, Organised, Reliable

Our communal cleaning services are built around structured task lists and clear processes. Each visit follows a defined scope of work tailored to the site, ensuring accountability and consistency of the cleaning.

We believe communication is key. Property managers and residents alike need to know that the job is done well and to the agreed specification. If we see something that needs attention, we report it. If there’s a change in requirement, we adapt quickly and let you know what we’re thinking.

Our teams arrive as scheduled, complete the agreed tasks, and maintain the professional standards your residents expect. If anything changes, we’ll be on the phone or email to let you know.

Quality Equipment, Processes and People

The quality of a cleaning service is only as good as the tools and people behind it. That’s why we invest in:

  • Professional-grade equipment

  • Efficient, safe cleaning processes

Using the right equipment not only improves results but also increases efficiency and safety within communal environments. Our cordless vacuums, dusters, mops, and specialist cleaning products where required ensure a thorough clean without disruption.

Our team members are trained to understand the importance of presentation, respect for residents, and attention to detail. We believe those are reasons why we’re building a reputation for quality service at good prices.
